A helpful site on basic advocacy has been provided by the Hamilton Public School Board http://www.schooladvocacy.ca/basic.html .
In particular the site on "Finding Support" is helpful. A small amount of the information relates to the Hamilton School Board, but by far the majority of the information is valid for all Ontario School Boards.
More detail is available by clicking on the Advocacy document at http://www.schooladvocacy.ca/download.html
Another helpful pamphlet on advocacy can be found on the website of the Ontario Association of Educational Advocates (OAEA). Click on the pamphlet "Take an Advocate to School: A Recource Guide to Finding and Keeping a Qualified Parent Advocate" at http://www.oaea.ca/find.html
